Measure Breast Size- How To
Do It Correctly
Every woman has probably measured
her breast size at some point in her life. You may not know it, but
there is a correct way to perform this measurement. Determining your
breast size is important if you plan to order apparel or lingerie
from catalogs or the Internet. Here's the best way to measure breast
size to determine your bra and cup size.
You'll need a tape measure to
measure breast size and should be wearing your most comfortable bra.
First, measure around your ribcage, just below your breasts. Add 5
to this number. If the result is an odd number, round up to the
nearest even number. For example, if you measure 30 inches, add 5 to
get 35. Since 35, is an odd number, round up to 36. This is your bra
size. When you measure breast size, bra size is just one of two
important measurements.
Once you know your bra size, you
need to measure breast size to determine cup size. Measure with the
tape measure around the fullest part of your bust. Subtract your bra
size from this number to find the difference. Refer to the chart
below to get your cup size. For example, if your bra size is 36 and
your breast size is 38, the difference is 2. According to the chart,
your cup size is B. It's that simple!
Difference Cup Size
In Inches
0 - ½ AA
½ - 1 A
1 - 2 ½ B
2 ½ - 3 ½ C
3 ½ - 4 ½ D
4 ½ - 6 DD
6 - 7 DDD
